Biography: I was born in Buon Ma Thuot, which is a small city located in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. The city is most famous for its coffee and scenic waterfalls.
When I was a little child, my grandfather usually told me many stories from his business trip, and I was always excitedly waiting for him to come back from work so that I could hear more fascinating stories from him. Since then, my passion for traveling has grown, and it encourages me to learn about the world through traveling just like my grandfather.
In 2016, I came to Portland State University (PSU) to pursue my bachelor degree and it has been a great journey so far. PSU is such a welcoming community where I can find myself involved in many different activities and organizations and it has become my home away from home. I have learned a lot during my time here which makes me realize that I really enjoy connecting with people and learning from a diverse community that PSU has to offer.
The International Cultural Service Program (ICSP) is a program that plays an important role in acknowledging Portland’s community about the wonder of diversity and inspiring others to be one’s true self. By being a part of ICSP, I hope to broaden my knowledge and continue to explore myself through cultural sharing. I look forward to meeting and learning from people in ICSP as well as sharing my Vietnamese culture through the program.
