Biography: I was born and raised in Nagoya, Japan until I graduated from high school. Nagoya is the third largest city in Japan after Tokyo and Osaka and located in the center of the country. It is known for its unique food and has the headquarters of Toyota.

I started my study abroad right after graduating from high school and went to Kentucky. I spent two years there and transferred to PSU in summer 2016.

Learning about other cultures and sharing my culture with people from over the world has been a major concern for me since I moved to the USA. I joined an organization for international students in my previous school and I found it very fun to learn and experience other cultures. At the same time, I started studying my culture to have a greater understanding so that I could share it more easily. I want to continue to learn about both other cultures and my own culture while I stay in Portland, where there is more diversity.

I am grateful for this opportunity to be a member of the ICSP and very excited about meeting new people and being able to share Japanese culture through the ICSP program.
