Biography: Eugene was born in Costa Rica to a British father and a Korean mother. His parents were international school teachers who moved to many different countries. Eugene subsequently has lived in Tanzania, Kenya, South Korea, and finally came to the U.S. in 2013. Eugene grew up in international schools where he developed a global identity rather than a singular British one.
Eugene discovered his passion for music and history while in his teens. He has actively played guitar and has sung in a rock band for the past five years. His influences include the Beatles, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and Nirvana. His songs have been played in four different countries and were included in a soundtrack for a CNN broadcast on Korea.
Eugene is currently studying history in order to become a history professor. He focuses on 20th century international relations with emphases on China, the U.S., Israel, and the Soviet Union.
