Biography: Jeffret Madondo was born and raised in the capital city of Zimbabwe, Harare. Jeffret is a young aspiring accounting major hoping to excel in the field to great heights. He loves sports, particularly basketball, and when he was 18 years old he was selected to represent his country as part of the Zimbabwe U18 Basketball Team at the All Africa Fiba Championships. 

 

Jeffret arrived in Portland in 2011 and since then he has quickly become involved in clubs and volunteer organizations. Currently he is the Treasurer for the Portland State Men's Soccer Club, Advisory Consultant at Portland Mutare Sister Association, an active member of the National Association of Black Accountants, and the student coordinator of the International Cultural Scholarship Program. 

 

Jeffret considers being able to study in the USA an enormously great privilege and intends to utilize this rare opportunity to the best of his ability. While Jeffret has adjusted well to studying abroad, he does admit that at times it is challenging to be far from home, but developing good friendships with other international students has been tremendously beneficial. He also enjoys every opportunity he is given to talk about his culture and tackles each task with enthusiasm. He is very happy to be part of the Portland State University community.
