My name is Sheng-Hsuan Tung, and I was born and raised in Taiwan. Taiwan is known for its enrichment of cultural intersections among Chinese culture, native Taiwanese culture, Southeast Asian culture, and Western culture. Growing up there has planted a seed of cultural diversity and communication in my heart.
In 2013, I moved to Suzhou, China where I graduated from a Canadian high school. In 2016, I came to Mt. Hood Community College to pursue the Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer in General Studies. Then, I transferred to PSU to pursue my bachelor's degree in Child, Youth, and Family Studies in 2018. After graduating from PSU, I was fortunate to keep working and learning with young children at the International School of Portland as an Assistant Chinese Teacher and Summer Camp Lead Teacher for 2 years. Such experience emphasized the importance of multi-cultural immersion and confirmed my career goal as a Bilingual Multicultural Educator.
I am highly motivated to be an ambassador of multicultural learning and communication, and I am also excited to be a part of the ICSP, and let more people see the beauty of the Chinese language, culture, and my hometown -- Taiwan.
