Biography: My name is Yu Murakami and I am from Tokyo, Japan, the most populous city of Japan. About 13 million people live in Tokyo, and it is one of the busiest cities in the world. After I graduated from high school, I decided to come to America. I Studied at Southwestern Oregon Community College in a small town of Coos Bay Oregon for two years, then transferred to PSU.

 

Before I came to America, I did not know what I wanted to study; however, the

experience in America made me interested in understanding people and society as a

whole, and that made me decide to study in the field of Sociology as well as pursuing a

business minor to gain applicable knowledge to use in business world. I love studying in

Portland and learning new things and culture. After I came to America I met many people

from all over the world and it expanded my aspect, also I realized that Japanese culture

that I thought was normal was actually really unique and beautiful! I am really excited to

be a member of ICSP and have opportunities to share Japanese culture with people from

around the world.
